Red, White and Blue | Part 3

Red, White and Blue | Part 3

Red, white, and bluish…

I have white and a pale blue, but when I was prepping this look I forgot about the red! (The tiny pink floral detail will have to suffice this time.)

This outfit really evolved from the makeup down — I was rummaging through my eyeshadow palettes and the only blue shade I had was this pastel blue-green. I added a thin black line of eyeliner and several coats of black mascara. My eyes were giving me decidedly 1960s mod vibes, and I just knew that red lipstick would end up looking clownish so I grabbed a reproduction 1963 pastel pink lippie instead.

The blue and pink makeup combo reminded me of this thrifted neoprene skater dress from Torrid. I added a thin white Lauren Conrad tee with scalloped detailing on the sleeves underneath because it is November and it was “only” 70 degrees. I liked the pairing but felt a belt was needed to break up the floral pattern a bit. Because I love pattern matching, I picked this leopard print belt from Old Navy (a birthday gift from my husband several seasons ago.)

I opted for a headscarf to pull my hair back (a gift from my grandma-in-law) because I had just washed my hair and it was damp and flat. #wavyhairproblems

I take photos using my iPhone, a Bluetooth remote and a tripod and this was the closest I could get to a full body shot (before I was over taking pictures in my apartment complex parking lot / someone else’s stairway.) You can’t see them but I have on the “Nautical Slip-ons” from Bangs Shoes.
