My Christmas Playlist: Part 2
30 minutes of Christmas music — collected and curated by Jewel
Happy Holiday by Bing Crosby, The Music Maids & Hal, John Scott Trotter & His Orchestra
I chose this song because it has such a great opening to start out the playlist and who can say no to “While the merry bells keep ringing. May your ev'ry wish come true…May the calendar keep bringing
Happy holidays to you” Perfect words for the holiday season.
Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms
I have this vivid Christmas memory from childhood, my sisters and I were putting up the tree, dancing to the radio while hanging the lights and this song came on. Now, I can’t help but smile and remember when I hear it!
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Frank Sinatra
There’s just something about this song sang by any of the original crooners that makes my heart swell and get excited about Christmas.
This version is even remastered making it sound even more magical.
I’ll be Home for Christmas by Chris August
Another favorite (…which I really guess all of these are my favorites since I’m sharing them with you) is I’ll Be Home For Christmas. I love this non-traditional and more upbeat take Chris August puts on it.
Angels We Have Heard On High by Sarah Reeves
One of my favorite Christmas hymns to sing. There's nothing I love more than hearing the organ, piano and rest of the instruments along with the congregation singing!
Glooooooooooo-ria!
Last Christmas by Wham!
For as long as I can remember this has been THE CHRISTMAS song.
I know strange, right…but somewhere in my early years I decided it was the best ever and it still holds today. ☺️
It’s probably the 80s pop.
Feelin’ Like Christmas by Sarah Reeves
Sarah Reeves album “Easy Never Needed You” (2018) is what got me through my move to Kansas City and since then, her music has held a special place in my heart.
This song is such a happy and bright Christmas song and I can’t help but see it becoming a Christmas classic!
Here Comes Santa Claus by Ramsey Lewis Trio
I will admit Here Come Santa Claus is not my favorite song lyrically but the tune gets me going and because of how much this version gets me in the mood to dance it had to be on the list.
Soon my feet are tapping…and if no one is there to see (😉) I break out in full non-glorious dance moves!
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! by Wynton Marsalis
My favorite music to listen to is instrumental, ranging from pop, classical, electronic and movie scores. But the biggest instrumental loves being jazz and Big Band. This versions gets me dreaming of a beautiful winter scene, where you’re probably going to be snowed in but it’s okay because you have nowhere to go.
