End of Summer Picnic

End of Summer Picnic

I haven’t posted for a few months — I’ve been experiencing some health issues and even went to the hospital for (non-COVID related) procedures. I wish I could say I was A-OK and back to 100% but… I’m not. In addition to the physical struggles, this added stress/uncertainty has further stretched my already stretched-thin mental health 😅

My husband Trevor has been an absolute blessing through everything and last weekend he suggested picking up Jersey Mike’s sandwiches for supper (they offer gluten free bread). We’re both experiencing “apartment fever” (Trevor has been working from our one bedroom, one bathroom since March 2020 and will be until sometime in 2021) so we were overdue for a picnic aka a mini escape to nature.

As we headed out the door, I packed our thrifted picnic basket with potato chips and an “outside” blanket to lay on the grass, then we brought a two cups + pitcher of Berkey water in our backpack-style cooler to stay hydrated.

After we ordered the sub sandwiches, we also picked up gluten free cupcakes from our favorite dedicated-gluten free pastry shop; Unrefined Bakery!

The lighting was just perfect so I snapped some photos of my handsome husband, Trevor (who did not attend UC Berkeley.)

Trevor got a Club Supreme ordered Mike’s Way with pickles, I got a Club Supreme (no cheese) on an Udi’s gluten free hoagie roll.

The pills I was prescribed — I have to take them twice a day with food and they still have a bunch of icky side effects. (They did make for a cool photo though!)

Have you been on a social distancing picnic this year? Let me know in the comments!
